“How to hold your Realtor Accountable ”


There are many ways to hold Realtors accountable for their promises, but to be safe, get it in writing. If it is not in writing it can easily become a "he said, she said" debate, not good for anyone. In Real Estate, especially in today's market, some agents will promise the moon, but unfortunately the harsh reality can be that all these promises can disappear after the agreement is signed. It can be very frustrating to be tied into a lengthy contract of this type. There are many Realtors in every community who do deliver what they promise and I commend them but how do you know upon a first meeting what your agent will be delivering to you. Even the best can sometimes be off their game.

So exactly how does a seller and /or a buyer ensure accountability? It is really quite simple, have your Realtor put their promises in writing and then take it a step further and agree in writing to certain consequenses if their promises are not fulfilled. As simple as this may sound, not many agents are willing to agree to these types of arrangements even if they could. Most agents can't because their hands are tied by company policy and that is unfortunate for you, the client.

The good news, there is a group of Realtors that prides themselves on accountability.
